ALONE and COUPLES: Inability to RELATE
We often can't stand being alone and seek out companionship, only to later realize how difficult it is to relate to others within a couple.
The moments of greatest loneliness are in the evenings and on weekends, when a slight sense of anxiety sets in and we try to find someone to spend time with, often relying on dating apps or apps where trips and travel are organized. If done calmly and proactively, it's a great thing, but if it becomes a sign of an inability to spend time with ourselves, it's something that needs to be addressed.
Also because in this case, we or those who do this tend to engage in a turnover of activities or pseudo-relationships lasting two or three months, during which we're unable to cultivate friendships or personal relationships beyond a casual acquaintance.
Then we get bored and continue with new stimuli just to avoid being alone, but at the same time, to avoid taking that additional step of deepening our understanding.
If we see this happening to us, let's stop for a moment and start with a small exercise, one or two evenings a week, finding something we enjoy doing, but on our own.
If we've met people with this problem, however, be careful, because they tend to be evasive, and if it's pointed out to them, they can become irritable and aggressive. We can try talking to people who can't relate to each other as a couple or as friends, but the rule always applies: everyone must take steps to improve independently. So, after having said it, let's take a step back, and if the person in question understands, he or she will be the first to contact us again as a potential partner or friend.
In this way, by setting the right boundaries and the right balance in relationships, we ourselves will be more serene and harmonious people.
