Taste of Sugar in the Pan
Young Tradition Vermont at VT Folklife's Sugar in the Pan Trad Band is coming to Maine with a tasty program of favorite Franco American jigs & reels and classic traditional call & response songs from Québec, learned from Pascal Gemme and Véronique Plasse. We'll mix it up to also take you to Cape Breton for a minute and sing a Shaker hymn in honor of our friend and mentor Pete Sutherland. Get tickets for the Fri May 24th Rockport Opera House show or see us on Thurs May 23rd at Lewiston Public Library's Callahan Hall or come dance at Kennebec Contra Dance on Saturday night in Hallowell! All proceeds benefit the Young Tradition Touring Group's June tour to Québec - so come out & support young people playing, singing, and learning traditional music... tell your friends!
