Halo Reach Trick/Glitch - Playing in the Pillar of Autumn Cutscene
We're back with a big trick today - this is the holy grail of the Pillar of Autumn tricking.
Similar to the Tip of the Spear cutscene overlap we did a couple of years ago, this trick is performed by manipulating the game into playing two cutscenes at the same time. When this happens, whichever cutscene ends first is where you will be placed. In this case, we overlap Carter's death cutscene with the end mission cutscene. Since Carter's death cutscene is relatively short compared to the end, you will spawn in the cave as usual, with the end cutscene cinematic playing in real time, and you can watch the Cruiser blow up and see the Pillar of Autumn take off. Acrophobia is useful for continuing all the way to the end of the mission very quickly to see the Noble 6 biped that is active during the cutscene (the white Spartan in the video). We also used Acrophobia to Armor Lock barrier break on Emile's head to fly to the Pillar of Autumn while it was taking off for some amazing angles. A few other things to note is that if you hit the cutscenes in a different order, the game will end and you will not be able to play in the cutscene, so timing and order is important. You must get the screen fade from the Cruiser cube before hitting Carter's cutscene fade.
Also, since Emile spawns after Carter's cutscene, and since the end cutscene is playing at the same time, we officially saved Emile through the entire mission, cutscene included.
