In the Acute Kidney Injury series you'll learn the bare essentials regarding acute kidney injury a.k.a. acute renal failure. In this first introduction video, you'll learn the definition of acute kidney injury, how to interpret serum creatinine with regard to glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and the different GFR formulas.

In the next couple of videos we'll go through the workup of acute kidney injury, in which we'll be discussing prerenal, renal and postrenal causes of renal failure. Note that we won't be getting into chronic renal failure.

In future videos, we'll cover the pharmacologic considerations in kidney injury, renal replacement therapies, etc. Let me know in the comments what topics you'd be interested in!
