When looking at the peristaltic pump you want to make sure that the roller heads are moving consistently and smoothly. This is related to the cogs inside the unit. When using these pumps you also want to make sure that the roller bars are clean, that the platens click down easily and that the lever bar is at about a 45 degree angle. Over tightening the platen levers can cause problems.
