Lubaantún (place of falling stones)
Maya site of Late Classic period, likely lacking cement as limestone conversion required extensive forests to burn,
which had been cleared in production of art and temples to gods. Unearthed and reconstructed by FA Mitchell Hodges in the 1920s. His adapted daughter alleged to have found a mystical crystal skull there and toured the world touting its healing powers (see today’s obsession with crystals for health). When she does Bill Homann continued touring the skull, most recently on Zoom. The British museum has a contemporary copy, which has been analyzed and found 19th century machine markings in the surface. The skull inspired Spielberg’a latest #IndianaJones . The Belizean archeologist tried to sue the film for appropriating their fraudulent cultural history.
