“All the Pretty Little Horses”, is also known as “Hush-a-bye”, and is a traditional American lullaby. Its origins are not verified, but it is commonly thought to be of African-American origin. One theory suggests that it was originally sung by an African-American slave who couldn’t care for her own baby because she was busy taking care of her master’s child. The lyrics promise the child that they will have all the pretty little horses when they wake up.
