Delayed Facial Palsy after Translabyrinthine Approach Acoustic Neuroma. One Month Later.
I have started a new series "Profiles in Patient Courage". I operate on many patients. Despite their fears, they allow me to open their skull and peer into their soul. When they emerge, they are hopefully better. Their courage never ceases to amaze me. I feel obligated to allow them to tell their stories.
In this video, my patient describes the experience of delayed facial palsy. Waking up from surgery, patients always check their face to be sure they can smile and close their eyes. However, some patients go home and then experience a delayed Bell's palsy several days later. The prognosis for this is excellent! hear his story
