After receiving shocking news about his financial situation, Master Chief takes on a challenging, yet inspiring, career path.

This idea was originally Jim's. He thought it would be funny to see Master Chief working at McDonalds. In early 2015 I finally took the idea and put it to paper. Chadified it, of course. The original script, while basically the same up until the restaurant sequence, featured two characters in a car belittling Master Chief and his position in life. I wanted to find two prolific YouTubers to take on these roles.
There was also a problem with the ending. My first ending proved to be too over the top (Master Chief takes a shit in the deep fryer, kills the manager and blows up the car the YouTubers are in) and the second ending seemed too generic (just blowing up the car). However, I stuck with the second ending, involving the exploding car.
However, the cartoon never entered production and things were set to the side.
Before moving to Vancouver I made a deal with Jared Winkler over at Winky Dink Media to take the old cartoons I had produced and turn them over as new content for his channel. While we skipped a couple of the weaker episodes, the series has seen a very positive response with this new audience. This prompted me to gear up for more episodes.
So obviously this episode was first to be considered due to the fact the script was done and the assets were mostly done. However, the damn ending didn't resonate with me. Not only that, the bit with the two YouTubers just didn't seem funny. I wanted this to be strong. Their presence wouldn't carry this alone.
There's where the idea of Mario came in. The rest came very naturally. I had a lot of fun with this one. I tried to polish the animation and timing as much as I could. And as of this writing, I am very happy with the result.
