Mount LeConte, considered among the bucket list climbs of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is the third highest peak in the park and can be reached by several trails, the most popular of which is via Alum Cave. Mount LeConte attracts many each year for its views, but only the fortunate few are lucky to secure exclusive beds at it's lodge, namely Leconte Lodge, the highest inn East of the Rockies, est 1925. We present Expert Kid Tips for climbing Mount LeConte and Cliff Tops via Alum Cave, a 12 mile out-and-back day hike covering 3,067 ft elevation gain with kids.
