Meet a Modern Practitioner: The Porter
The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret Presents: Meet A Modern Practitioner.
The aim of this project is to develop a series of short films for younger people. These films would speak to modern-day medical practitioners, comparing their work to that which took place in the Old Operating Theatre of the Old St Thomas' Hospital. Our hope is to encourage young people to consider a career related to medicine, to showcase the range of roles involved in medicine today, and to highlight how medicine has changed over the last two hundred years.
In this fourth film, we will meet Trevor Morris who is a porter and theatre support worker at Kings College Hospital, working in the day surgery. Previously he had worked on a building site but chose to work instead in health in order to make a difference, and has been working at the day surgery for twenty five years.
