The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret Presents: Meet A Modern Practitioner.
The aim of this project is to develop a series of short films for younger people. These films would speak to modern-day medical practitioners, comparing their work to that which took place in the Old Operating Theatre of the Old St Thomas' Hospital. Our hope is to encourage young people to consider a career related to medicine, to showcase the range of roles involved in medicine today, and to highlight how medicine has changed over the last two hundred years.
In this third film, we will meet Dr Kate Prior is a consultant anaesthetist in the Royal Navy, with interests in major trauma, anaesthesia for emergency surgery and regional anaesthesia. She has served as a member of a Medical Emergency Response Team operating on a Chinook in Afghanistan.
