About the Session
ML5.js is an open-source and user-friendly library that aims to make machine learning approachable for designers, artists, and other members of the creative community. ml5.js provides immediate access in your browser to pre-trained models for generating text, styling an image with another, identifying figures and much more.
In this session, we will look at how and why to use Javascript and ML5.js for your creative Machine Learning project. Then we'll start with hands-on coding where you'll make your own ML5 image classifier game, and learn to work with the Face, Handpose, and Pose API's, and more.
This session is the first of two introductory workshops to ML5.js with the next one focussing on training your own Neural Networks.
About the Speaker
Erik Katerborg is a creative technologist and lecturer in creative media at the Rotterdam University for Applied Sciences. He is especially interested in making technology and coding more accessible to people with a creative or design background. Learn more about Erik’s work on his Linkedin.
