Join me on a beautiful summer day as we walk from Tower Bridge to London Bridge, taking in some of London’s most iconic landmarks along the way and the city skyline.
🌟 Highlights of the walk:
📍 Tower Bridge: Opened in 1894, this Victorian masterpiece is one of London’s most famous landmarks. Tower Bridge is not just a bridge—it’s a work of engineering art, with its bascules still raising to allow ships to pass beneath.
📍 Tower of London: Just beside the bridge, this historic fortress has stood for nearly 1,000 years. It was once a royal palace, a prison, and is now home to the Crown Jewels.
📍 HMS Belfast: Moored on the Thames, HMS Belfast is a World War II warship that now serves as a floating museum. It’s an impressive sight and a reminder of London’s rich maritime history.
📍 The Shard: Towering above the city at 310 meters, The Shard is the tallest building in the UK and dominates the London skyline. Its glass facade reflects the city and the river beautifully, especially on sunny days.
📍 City of London: As we walk along the river, you'll see some of the modern skyscrapers in the City of London, like the Gherkin and the Walkie-Talkie, standing in contrast to the historical buildings nearby.
📍 London Bridge: Our walk ends at London Bridge, a site of many historic crossings since Roman times. The current bridge, opened in 1973, replaced several older versions, but its legacy as a key Thames crossing remains.
With the sun shining and the Thames glittering, this walk offers both historic and modern sights, capturing the essence of London. It’s the perfect route for anyone looking to explore the heart of the city on foot!
