Hyundai ix35 review
I will consider hiring more cars, just so I can give them a review like this...
The Hyundai ix35, a reasonably good looking car; contemporary, nothing out-of-the-ordinary, not bad.
The interior looks alright, but it feels a bit cheap with hard plastics everywhere, and really, a bit of a dull place to be. There's enough space inside, but the visibility through the windscreen is hampered by the huge a-pillars that leave you wondering how wide the car is.
Keyless start - nice idea, but what is the point? Having an ignition barrel gives you somewhere to put the key, that's better than having it in your pocket, or floating about in the car somewhere, banging against the hard plastics.
The fuel gauge is stupid, it's marked in 8ths, but only 8ths -- it doesn't register anywhere in-between - so you've either got a quarter of a tank of fuel, or 3/8ths -- that's really stupid, and annoying, and pointless.
On the road, the car is ... alright, the steering is a bit numb, it's a bit like a Vauxhall -- adequate -- but dull. The diesel engine is pretty noisy, sounds a bit like a tractor; there's no chance of mis-fueling, and putting petrol in it. Fuel economy isn't exactly impressive either.
The Hyundai ix35. It's alright, but I wouldn't want to buy it.
