DC for AC Swamp Cooler --------- 12 or 24 Volt DC PART 1

Change a standard A.C. Evaporative (Swamp) Cooler into a D.C. unit (12 or 24 volts). When done, cooler uses only about 1/3 the power of the original AC version; and with DC, no inverter is required. The video also takes time to explain some basic skills along the way (soldering, metal-working, DC wiring, etc.) which can just be skipped over if desired.

The project is a 5-part series. This Part 1 starts with a quick summary of all 5 parts, so a viewer can determine if the project is of interest to them. Part 1 then shows the first steps to transform a stock AC Swamp Cooler into a DC unit.

But for those with more money than time, there is a factory-made DC unit on the market, seems real deluxe, with a stainless steel cabinet, can run on dc etc., but it costs over a grand, too stiff for my budget, so I proceeded with this project. It was hobby-fun and a good challenge ... (also learned a lot about making videos ; ) )
