▸This video covers the topic of Data Deduplication with Microsofts ReFS or Resilient File System.
This is a new feature that was released for Windows Server 1709 and it bring with it the advantage of the newest file system capabilities and now adds the functionality for saving space along with obtaining some additional performance due to the way the ReFS is implemented. We start the video by walking through the process of configuring a new disk along with creation of a new volume leveraging ReFS. We then enable the Data Deduplication feature inside of Windows and configure the new volume before we jump into a high level overview of how to enable and use Data Deduplication.
We end the video by showing you a quick way of forcing data deduplication optimizations and showing the potential savings that could be gained with this implementation.
