The scorpions always arrive at dawn by Jules de Bouverie
'The scorpions always arrive at dawn' for solo piano was premiered and composed for Rolf Hind on 25 November at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The piece is a graphic score and weaves together graphics and the poem 'guillotine' by Eduardo C. Corral. Pianists are invited to underscore themselves by reading passages from the poem during performance or to be influenced by the words as they interpret the score. Though pianists can improvise the dynamics, articulations and the exact notes they play, time is strictly defined in the piece.
