Performance at NewMusicGathering 2023 by Jules de Bouverie
At the NMG2023 Festival/Conference I performed a free improv and a set of pieces for solo piano that also included improvisation to various degrees. The concert was a very special occasion for me having not performed a full set on piano in 10 years. During that time, I had worked through what piano meant to me. Recently I have also begun to incorporate various PTSD symptoms into my practice and performance making. You may notice I disassociate at times and deal with intrusive thoughts in real time. I am excited to continue this work through my PhD research and see how I can continue to explore what my practice is when I include my whole neuroqueer self. Many thanks to NMG for inviting me!!
