How to play Deadfall, by James Ernest
James Ernest of Crab Fragment Labs explains the rules to Deadfall, a bluffing game with the Pairs deck.
Deadfall is a simple bluffing game, in which players try to suss out which ranks of cards are alive and dead.
On your turn, you may play one card from your hand, or you may call another player's last card. When you play a card, you are declaring that the rank is still alive, meaning that someone still holds a copy in their hand. When you call someone, you are declaring that they were wrong, and that rank is dead.
There is a showdown after a call, and the winner pays the loser a penalty equal to the value of the called card. For example, six coins if the card was a 6. There is also a pot, one con from each player, which also goes to the winner.
