Every piece of knowledge must have a single, unambiguous, authoritative representation within a system.

The Don’t Repeat Yourself (DRY) principle was introduced in Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas's book The Pragmatic Programmer.

As with any other coding principle, the DRY principle is only a guideline, not a law.
