After finally setting aside some time to do some real PSVita captures, we're starting out by uploading some of the most accessible games on the handheld. As such, DoA5+ is a great candidate for this purpose. Part of the long-running DoA series of "sexy fighters", Dead or Alive 5+ is a modified port of DoA5, with new features and tweaked gameplay to take advantage of the Vita's hardware. While the game does lack certain features from its older sibling (DOA5+ lacks Story Mode Missions, Lobby Matches, and the ability to upload recorded fights to YouTube. Additionally, Tag Fights are available only in the Story Mode, while Versus, Arcade and Time Attack modes are solo only), it makes up for with excellent porting of its other features as well as great graphics (all things considered), sound and gameplay for the Vita handheld. It has additional features such as new training options, a first-person "Touch Play Mode", and compatibility with the ill-fated PlayStation TV / PS Vita TV.

If you've played one DoA game, you generally know what to expect: 3D slugfests that take place in interactive and destructive arenas. What's new of importance here are the aesthetics of characters (more realistic designs, sweat, dirt and clothes physics, etc.) QTE (quick time events) called Cliffhangers to inflict more damage, Power Blows (special attacks that can serve as finishers when your health is low), and the introduction of characters from other games (specifically, Sega's "Virtua Fighter" franchise). The fighting is deeper and more technical than ever with tweaked timing and tighter play control, and this is reproduced quite well for the Vita.

This is a video showing some of the game in action, deliberately getting beat up in some matches to showcase Power Blows. You can see a sample of the Touch Play Mode below:
