HANDOFF - Satterwhite Constructed Shell to General Contractor
The Satterwhite building system is optimized to lower construction costs. The approach will vary according to where you build, but in most all cases will engage a local general contractor.
Now in our 50th year, Satterwhite has worked with hundreds - if not thousands - of GCs all around North America and across the globe. In cases where Satterwhite builds the constructed shell ("dry-in" in trade parlance), we take care of everything specific to log construction. At that point, there is a handoff to the local GC, who can efficiently manage completion of all aspects of the home that are little different than any modern residence. This minimizes construction travel costs for our customers, and it also maximizes tight-knit relationships among local subcontractors, who will have existing business relationships with the general contractor.
In this episode, Blake Linton and Josh Thomas from Satterwhite are joined by GC Jacob Moss. Although Satterwhite works with many contractors across the country, Jacob and his jobs are close at hand to our home office in Longview, Texas.
