"There's Nothing Like Christmas in a Log Home."
Just a few days ago was move in day for the beautiful log home featured in this video. We'd love you to take a look at what a finished log home looks like only a few minutes before the moving trucks arrived with furniture and all the other household comforts that will prepare this home for its first Christmas.
Because of the building sequence of log homes, this video is a rare opportunity to see a completed Satterwhite log home just before the family who will live here moves in.
Now about to enter our 50th year, Satterwhite Log Homes works with general contractors and DIY homeowners nationwide. In many cases, Satterwhite construction crews erect a dried-in shell - the log wall system and structural elements to support the roof. Because completing a log home is almost the same as any conventional residence, the job transitions to a local general contractor ("GC") to manage finishing the home.
In this video, Blake Linton, Josh Thomas, and Robert Henry from Satterwhite are given a tour by Jacob Moss, the GC who completed this custom home to a very high standard. During the walkthrough, Jacob answers many questions about the completion process.
Many thanks to the homeowners who so generously welcomed Satterwhite to document the construction of this home. We are preparing lots more content from this home to be released in the future, but we're thrilled to share this conclusion to a beautiful story just in time for Christmas - an wonderful time of year to move into a new log home.

Yes, it actually was move-in day. Finishing touches were in progress even as we filmed - light bulbs were being installed in fixtures, and lock sets were being installed on exterior doors. This whirlwind tour is shown almost realtime, and you'll notice all of us took our shoes off outside and are walking about inside this finished new home in our socks!
