LIVER CIRRHOSIS is the end result of various chronic liver diseases.
The liver undergoes fibrosis with formation of regenerative nodules. When the body compensates for the condition, it presents with non specific symptoms but once the compensatory mechanisms fail , it presents as ascites , encephalopathy, variceal bleeding etc
Viruses like Hep C and Hep B are known to cause cirrhosis of liver.
Other causes include Alcohol , Wilson's disease , Autoimmune Hepatitis , Heamochromatosis etc
