The Ramos air disaster occurred on December 22, 1959, when a Brazilian Air Force Fokker T-21 trainer aircraft collided mid-air with a VASP Vickers Viscount. The accident caused both aircraft to crash, resulting in the deaths of 31 people on board the Viscount and 10 on the ground. The military pilot managed to escape by parachuting and was the sole survivor.
