On September 29, 2006, Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907, a Boeing 737-800, collided mid-air with an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet over Mato Grosso, Brazil. The Legacy's winglet sliced through the 737's left wing, causing it to lose control and crash into the jungle, killing all 154 people on board. The Legacy, despite serious wing and tail damage, managed to land safely with all seven occupants unharmed. The incident highlighted major failures in air traffic control and communication protocols in Brazilian airspace.
May the victims rest in peace.
