On February 11, 2025, Gol flight G3 1674, a Boeing 737 Max 8 departing from Galeão Airport in Rio de Janeiro to Fortaleza, collided with a maintenance vehicle on the runway during takeoff. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., prompting the pilot to abort takeoff immediately and notify air traffic control. Fortunately, no one on board or on the ground was injured. Passengers were safely disembarked, and the flight was rescheduled for the following morning. The aircraft sustained significant damage to the underside of its fuselage. In August 2025, an investigation report by CENIPA identified operational failures that contributed to the incident.
