Innovation & Elegance of design, just the addition of the TouchPoint HMI controller to the backside of the standard LED board, our patent-pending innovation uses the PCB's "XY force" deflection to detect the press.
Benefit: no need to have a separate switch, this intuitive press the light and it immediately responds, processing all in the TouchPoint, controlling the Illumination w/ effects.
Gesture Enabled: with smart gesture capability and UX design, you also get quick access with a double tap to go directly to the reading light mode.
Personalization & Profiles: custom profiles can be set to accommodate different lighting preferences and effects, such as more gradual or faster transitions, or levels of brightness.
Compare the difference: Other methods for detecting the light press have been adding ITO cap films to the inside of the dome, slightly degrading the brightness, and yield issues with vacuum forming the ITO to the dome highlights bubbling of the bond. The other common issue it avoids is the fading of the ITO film as the film ages, accelerated by LED temperature. The solid-state TouchPoint HMI controller is AEC-Q100 grade 2 supporting temperatures from -40°C to 105°C
