This concept video shows dual function trunk interface. Using a single QuadForce HMI controller this emblem badge can detect presses on the upper vs lower portion of the badge. This enables the ability to either only open the top tailgate glass by pressing on the badge top, or open the entire tailgate by pressing on the lower part of the badge.
Note: UltraSense technology can operate with gloves and uses Machine Learning to prevent accidental activations in addition to the trained "dual-zone" detection of presses on a solid-state (non-moving) trunk emblem.
