Are you a hyper-absorber? Find out, here: https://mygenefood.app/reports/choles...

There is a lot of confusion about dietary cholesterol and whether eating foods like eggs has any meaningful impact on important heart health markers, such as APOB.

The default rule is that most of us absorb very little of the cholesterol we eat, and to the extent we do, the body makes less, which keeps cholesterol levels tightly regulated.

However, some of us (known as hyper-absorbers) carry genetic variants associated with greater absorption of both cholesterol and plant sterol.

In today's video, Gene Food founder, John O'Connor, discusses the genetic testing and the blood work he did to find out he absorbs more cholesterol than much of the general population, as well as how he uses Zetia to keep his lipids in range.
