Novotel Barcelona City - May 2024
In May we stayed at the Novotel Barcelona City hotel for 8 nights. This hotel is located a bit on the edge of the city centre. However, the Glories Metro stop is a 5 minute walk away, and we could get almost everywhere with a short metro ride or bus ride. We had a room on the 18th floor and had an amazing view, even of the Sagrada. However, the hotel bar was basically above our room and we could hear a lot of noise on the weekend from the music and scraping chairs.
The Front desk staff were less than nice. Every time I needed to ask a question they talked down to me. Our room didn't have Facial Tissues and they told me to go and buy my own, but the store was closed. I asked where to buy them for the following day and they mumbled something and I just agreed. I came back to spend a final night before our flight back home. When I arrived, the one woman wouldn't let the man check me in, because it was check out time. But no one was there. So he finally helped me while the woman sneered at him. And then my new room had facial tissues!! So the hotel has them, she just wouldn't give them to me!!
Side note - I asked the front desk to mail my postcards and I still haven't received them. We got every postcard from the trip, except the one from Barcelona.
However, it is still a nice hotel. Once safely in our room away from the front desk we enjoyed our stay. Maybe they can get new front desk workers that want to be there, then the hotel will be that much better. I am staying here again next Summer, but just for 2 nights.
