Kiss, often written as KISS, was a rock band from the United States formed in 1973 in New York City. The band members were Paul Stanley, who sang and played rhythm guitar, Gene Simmons, who also sang and played bass guitar, Ace Frehley, who played lead guitar and sang, and Peter Criss, who played drums and sang. They became famous for their unique face paint and costumes. Kiss became popular in the 1970s for their exciting live shows, which included special effects like fire-breathing, spitting blood, and using pyrotechnics. Over time, the band had different people come and go, but Stanley and Simmons stayed throughout. The final members were Stanley, Simmons, Tommy Thayer, who played lead guitar and sang, and Eric Singer, who played drums and sang.
