Ushiro Ryokata dori Kokyu Ho
Kokyu Ho is one of the technical pillars of Aikido. It is both a strike and an exercise, and takes many forms and approaches to execution. At Hombu Dojo, it is very common for classes to begin with some type of Kokyu Ho. Some instructors call this technique Kokyu Nage, while others even call it Sokumen Irimi Nage.
There are countless ways to apply it, and here I demonstrate what I believe to be the basic form and some possible variations that I use in my practice.
