The Beach Boys- She Knows Me Too Well ('Treat Her Right')
This video celebrates the 60th anniversary of The Beach Boys fan-favorite record 'She Knows Me Too Well' first released on August 24, 1964 as the B-side for the marvelous single 'When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)'. It was subsequently included on the Beach Boys following studio album 'The Beach Boys Today!' in March of 1965. With music by Brian Wilson and lyrics by Brian and Mike Love, it is said to be one the first songs Brian Wilson ever wrote under the influence of marijuana. The song features Brian Wilson on lead vocals and Brian, Carl & Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine on backing vocals. Interpreting its lyrics, the narrator of the song admits to his relationship's failings but continues to delude himself into thinking that everything is alright. It's an early example of the growing complexity and maturity in Wilson's songwriting and a clear precursor to the breakthrough album 'Pet Sounds'.
