It’s been a little while since our last full release, which is why we are absolutely thrilled to put together this brand new project from Clork, a Melbourne based production wizz who also works under the alias of Coldpast. We have previously released with his Coldpast alias, but we are very excited to showcase his more experimental techy side with this project as Clork.
As an EP, this is a masterclass in forward thinking production technique of dance music design, with the title track ‘Drill’ being the perfect example, working together what would normally be an obnoxious fire bell sample with vibrant 4x4 drum rhythms and steadily progressing percussive pickouts.
It all gets a tad moodier as we then stroll into the potent flavours of High Council, which smashes together free flowing, chime like melodic patterns with beefy drum punches and hypnotic atmospheric structure to send the listener into an daze of twisted unpredictability. On remix duty, we are very pleased to bring forward Epoch, who darkens the mood further with a vertiginous display of lofi drum processing and exploratory harmonics.
This release truly showcases the future of tech in our opinion, with a selection of hard hitting production themes and near untouchable creativity.
