Khadijah, Khaleeji Solo at JamBallah NW ‘17

2017 instructor Khadijah performs at the JamBallah Showcase, at the Artist's Repertory Theatre in Portland, OR. Khaleeji dance represents not only a proud culture embedded in African roots but it represents proud women honoring their ancestry. With its origins in the region where Khadijah grew up, this dance is held very close to her heart. This particular piece is also very special because khaleeji is rarely performed in public in the Arabian Gulf, as well as rarely being performed solo (it is usually performed with a group of women). She hopes you will enjoy the addition of a special "twist" at the end.
