Anticipation - Laura Platt
Getting back into writing for epic orchestra has been so much fun, especially when blending in interesting elements from other genres I love! I've been really enjoying writing interesting melodies for woodwinds, and recently I just haven't been able to get enough of using them as virtuosic leads to showcase some of the beautiful tones they each have. They all have such unique sounds, especially when they're given the spotlight! While in the process of writing this track, I was feeling particularly inspired by Daniel Pemberton's incredible work on the soundtracks for the films in the Spider-Verse series, Hiroyuki Sawano's fantastic melodic writing on the Xenoblade Chronicles X soundtrack, and, in a bit of a deeper cut, Hitoshi Sakimoto's absolutely astonishing work on the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim soundtrack. I hope those influences shines through in the music!
