This is one of what I would consider to be the "big" tracks on this album - it's ambitious, sprawling, and working on it pushed me harder than anything I've written before. I've always been a huge fan of Yasunori Mitsuda's work, and this track felt like a love letter to his style! I absolutely adore how it ended up turning out. I got to experiment a lot with composing exciting basslines for orchestral music in the writing process, and I feel like the lessons I'll take with me from that process will be so useful in how I approach both composing and arranging for orchestra in the future. That insane shakuhachi solo might be my favourite melody I've ever written!
Over The Horizon is dedicated to Patrick Glynn, a wonderful friend and colleague without which this track would not have been written.
