Gays in Gaming 2013 - Spelunky
(Reuploaded to fix sound issue) Starting with Spelunky today Bears in Games looks back at 2013 and how the depiction of different genders and sexualities has changed. Also I make goofy comments about little Spelunky men in thongs and gets killed by a shotgun held by a minion he hired. Check out Feminist Frequency for alternative ideas on the gender roles of the damels / dudesels / dogsels. This is probably my favorite game of the year.
