Gays in Gaming 2013 - Saints Row IV
Another favorite of mine for the year, the bizarre Saints Row IV. What started as a San Andreas clone in 2005 has become one of the weirdest franchises out there, and now includes superpowers, Matrix parodies, very specific Giant Bomb and Mass Effect references, and way more. With IV the series introduces same gendered romance, which is a nice little codeword for random banging. It's pretty hilarious. Also: Nolan North!
