I’ve been back in the lab scripting a vision for How to Train Your Dragon long before the official teasers hit. I wanted to see if I could capture the "First Flight" magic of Hiccup and Toothless in a realistic, cinematic style. Now that the official 2025 movie is on the horizon, I'm bringing my original pitch back out of the vault to show you guys how we envisioned the world of Berk!
In my "First Flight" concept, I’ve re-contextualized Viking cinematography and dragon fragments to build a pitch that explores the bond that challenges tradition. I got deep into the edit to re-cook these fragments—blending custom VFX and my signature "Den" sound design to bring Toothless to life!
