🎙Hands up who thinks of AVer as an AV camera brand? Yep, we did too – and to be fair they do have a super-solid camera range. But it turns out there is a whole lot more to AVer than we ever realised, and it was up to our friend Bally Hunjan to put us in the picture when we met at Midwich’s Tech Xpo 2024.
🎙AVer has recently begun turning its attention downstream to signal distribution. Bally showed us the versatile little MT300N NDI® matrix tracking box. This unit has an internal NDI convertor, so you can take in or send out an NDI stream (even if you’re using non-NDI cameras), plus AVer has included its voice tracking software for compatibility with top mic brands like Shure, Sennheiser, and Yamaha.
🎙Another handy little black box is the UE1 USB extender, which gives you an HDMI and USB output to run your camera up to 100m away.
🎙We’ve seen a few AV vendors making the leap from A to V and V to A lately and AVer has joined them with its FONE700 ceiling speakerphone system, which allows single cable connection to an MTR room or room PC. The mic and speaker are all in the same unit, which means the integral DSP must be doing some clever stuff behind the scenes.
🎙One final eye-opener is that AVer has a fully certified range of medical cameras – a fascinating niche that deserves a deep dive of its own sometime.
