Mini Home | Kamero Consults x Shirshak Baniya
The building is inspired by the mobile/temporary structure built by the shepherds (gothala) in hilly regions of Nepal, which they move from one place to another along with their cattle. The structure is constructed using prefabricated steel frames, which are mobile and can be transported and assembled at any place.
The building is oriented towards the south to follow the passive solar design approach. The mud-grass roof provides the unique experience to the users, along with the beautiful panoramic view of Kathmandu and Nagarjun.
Key features of the building are: mud roof, stone masonry walls, steel structure framing system, wooden floor finish, clay tiles on the floors, flattened bamboo false ceiling, etc.
