The $30 Video Light
This video is about a light you would never expect to use for video. Specifically, a shop light.
I bought this light because I was curious. I'm normally not a fan of LED lights for video because they tend to make people look not-so-attractive and they can be blinding when shooting.
But this light intrigued me because they enclose the little LED's in a tube like a fluorescent bulb. That tube softens and diffuses the LED's, which in turn make a pretty darn good video light. Perfect? No. But probably good enough for most people.
The only real drawback with this light is the color temperature, which makes your videos a little green. But you can either fix that in your video editing software or manually adjust the white balance of your camera.
BONUS: You can use the light for virtually anything around your home or business and just grab it when you need to make a video.
The specific light I'm using is the Feit Electric LED Shop Light. The link below is where you can get it on Amazon for $50. But I got mine at Costco for $30. I actually bought 2 thinking I would need both for video, but it's bright enough that I only use one:

As far as placing the light, I just put it on a table or file cabinet, behind the camera and a little above my head level. Here's a picture showing my setup:
