This example simulates fast growing office equipment fire. Temperature rises due to fire and sprinkler near fire activates and extinguishes the fire. A fire sprinkler system is an active fire protection method, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flowrate to a water distribution piping system.
Fire scenarios with sprinkler system can be simulated using Fire dynamics simulator.
Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of fire-driven fluid flow. FDS solves numerically a form of the Navier-Stokes equations appropriate for low-speed (Ma less than 0.3), thermally-driven flow with an emphasis on smoke and heat transport from fires.
