This year's 40th annual VC Film Fest (also known as the Los Angeles Asian-Pacific Film Festival) was host to a tremendous amount of incredible films. Although I was unable to screen with the household names and familiar faces from home in the Pacific Cinewaves, I was still fortunate to see their films, the most outstanding to me being Kūkini and Chaperone! I always feel incredibly welcomed by the local/Asian-American community that make up this festival and as Ioane put it in Kūkini's Q&A, it sort of just feels like an extended trip into town. It is also always a treat to spend quality time with my family and I appreciate them being able to always support me and my endeavors.
