At some point, Mboweni wanted to quit Treasury - Mbeki
Former president Thabo Mbeki says Tito Mboweni was unwilling to join the government again when President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed him as finance minister in 2018. This is because he was not certain he would work effectively with the ministers in that administration. Mbeki says, at some point, Mboweni called him and told him he wanted to quit.
