Brick Stove DIY.
Hello.
To be honest, this is not really a stove, although you can also bake and even smoke in it.
This is just my brick barbecue, adapted for cooking food in a dish.
All I did today was put a cast-iron two-burner stove on top of the barbecue.
I had this stove left over from the reconstruction of the heating stove.
If you are interested, there is a video about both a brick barbecue and a heating stove on the channel.
In this case, the size and material of the barbecue have absolutely no significance, nor do the dimensions of the stove.
This is just a visual example of the compatibility of objects of different sizes.
It turned out to be two holes through which you can put firewood.
On the left, it was formed because the barbecue is slightly wider than the stove.
On the right is the open second burner.
In my case, the smoke comes out through both of these holes.
If such smoke is unacceptable for you, then you can organize the exit of smoke gases through one of the holes.
The easiest way is to add a section of vertical pipe on top of the open burner for the exit of smoke, and put firewood through the free hole.
The higher the pipe, the greater the pressure difference or draft will be.
Try it, sometimes even an old bucket without a bottom, in the role of such a pipe, can significantly organize the movement of smoke.
If it turned out that the cast-iron plate completely covered the dimensions of the barbecue, then I would make a hole for loading firewood in the side wall, removing one of the bricks.
As you can see, you can significantly improve the performance of this outdoor stove, but I deliberately show that everything works fine as is.
About 20-30 minutes warms up the stove and you can start cooking. If you remove the rings from the working burner, the cookware will heat up much faster, but...
The open flame will instantly smoke my frying pan, and I don't want to wash it off later.
This is the reason why I don't really like outdoor rocket stoves or other open fires.
If you remove the rings from the burner only when only coals remain, then the cookware will remain clean on the outside.
Our grandmothers would lower specially shaped cast iron pots into such burner holes after the firewood had completely burned out and simmer various dishes in them.
Let me remind you that I have 27 bricks and a cast iron plate weighing 15 kg in my oven.
After the fire has stopped, this heat-intensive structure cools down very slowly and continues cooking for another 1-2 hours!
Therefore, to save fuel, you need to stop adding firewood in advance.
Today, 2 logs were used for cooking, but I'm still learning.
Thank you for your attention!
