Today Jan 16th, on what would have been his 10th birthday, we honor the memory of Elijah-Alavi Silvera. Born in Brooklyn and raised in the vibrant heart of Harlem, Elijah’s life was full of promise and joy, tragically cut short by a food allergy reaction.
His parents and brother, beacons of strength in the face of immense grief, have channeled their loss into a powerful force for good through the Elijah-Alavi Foundation. This foundation is a testament to Elijah-Alavi’s spirit, promoting food allergy safety, education, and advocacy.
Elijah’s words, “Make A Hand, Make A Hug, Make A Kiss,” resonate as a tender reminder of his enduring love and the compassion he embodied. These words now serve as a call to action for all of us, urging us to be more understanding, more compassionate, and proactive in our approach to life’s challenges.
As we celebrate Elijah’s birthday, life, and legacy, we invite everyone to join us in echoing his message. Let’s continue to create lasting, impactful change in his honor. Share this story, become ‘Elijah’s Echo’ in your community, and help make the world a safer place for those with food allergies.
